Feli

Ruatfeli - my little miracle, my life changer.

You were conceived sometime in May of 2008. Just the idea of you changed me, made me so expectant. I finally understood what 'expecting mother' really meant. You were an active little baby even in my tummy. You would kick and punch, I thought you'd surely be a boy :)

You were born on 19th February, 2009, a little ahead by a month. I was in love with you from the moment you were born, my wise looking little baby, who slept and slept and slept; and cried so lustily I knew your lungs must surely be healthy.

You were in NICU (Neonatal Care Unit) for a month. Your weight  dropped from 2.5 kg to 1.3 kg. You battled infections, hypoxia, jaundice, sometimes I'd cry because I thought you would be taken from me. But we could finally leave when your weight reached 1.8 kg.

You thrived at home, blossoming before our eyes. Fair as snow, people wondered how you were our child. Everything faded into in-consequence for me, your father might have felt a little lost :)

Your little brother was born on 13th November, 2010. I felt you were too young to be a big sister, but such are God's plans. You were a little jealous of Sanga when you were little, but he has proved to be such a good playmate for you. And you have proved to be such a great big sister for him. Watching the two of you play and interact with each other makes me feel so blessed. Always take care of your brother, he is God's gift to you. You will never have any friend who will stick up for you like a brother does.

*********************************************************************************
As I am writing, on 23th July, 2015, you are all of  6 years and 5 months. And I wonder how insightful you are for your age, how much you try to please me in your ways. You can tell when I am sad or angry, and say things to make me feel better, that adults have never had to wisdom to say. You are smart, and funny, bright. And I feel guilty that I have not been a perfect mother for you, but I love you with all my heart, my little daughter.

I promise to love you, to listen, to try to understand, to stand with you always in all situations. As long as I am alive, I shall try to be a mother and a friend to you. And my darling, even if I should one day die, you know I will always be watching you. And you can always, always pray to God, and He will listen. Sometimes He will answer your prayers - exactly as you wished Him to. Sometimes He will listen, but allow bad things to happen to you, but He will always be holding your hands, making you strong to withstand hurt and pain. And you will always come out stronger and better.

If you truly believe in God, you will never be alone, and you can always, always be happy and sane in all situations the world can take you in.

My darling, listen to your parents, even when we seem so foolish and old. Be confident in your self. Know it's alright to fail as long as you have tried your best. Be kind. Have empathy. Remember staying true and honest will always make you richer than all the money in the world. Know that you can make mistakes, but you can always get back on your feet. Love God and read the Bible. Apply it in your life. You father and I will always love you, and you can always find us in your heart, even when we've passed away.

When Memories fail

When you have so many online accounts, it's not really your fault if you forget some of your passwords.
That's why www.lazymaydays.blogspot.com is somewhere still out there, unbreachable, undeletable :)
Facebook replaced blogspot for me, but new changes in my life prompts me to attempt a new blog, which will hopefully serve as something for my kids to read and understand their crazy mom.
